Role: Research, Ideation, Creative Conceptualization, Scriptwriting
Narrative Film Script
A Yellow theme is to be followed throughout this film. Be it in the form of clothing, décor, or the backdrop, the colour Yellow is to be present throughout.

Background music starts from the get-go: Is this Love by Bob Marley (instrumental in most parts except in those mentioned)

(The scene starts with a girl waiting to get off the bus. She opens the Bumble app; checks the directions the guy she's talking to has sent her, and texts him ‘See you soon’.
She gets off the bus and her face lights up when she sees him waiting near the Golawala next to the bus stop. She goes for the awkward side hug and suggests having a Gola. She looks at him while he looks away and vice versa.
In her excitement, she drops the Gola and exclaims "Oh Shit!" He looks at her for a moment and then drops his too. They both burst out laughing, having broken the ice- literally and figuratively.)

(Voiceover starts)

Is this love?
The newness, the nerves,
The jitters and everything in between that you deserve?

(Voiceover ends)

(The camera takes a wide shot, with the couple laughing in the foreground and focuses on three torn yellow coloured posters stuck on top of each other on the ‘Stick No Bills’ wall- depicting Is this Love? with each word belonging to a different poster. (Cue Is this Love, Is this Love, Is this Love that I’m feeling chorus lyrics)

(Cut to a yellow scooter speeding by. All decked up, he checks Bumble and senses his boyfriend’s impatience which makes him smile. Checks his appearance in the mirror one last time, fiddles with his hair, parks his scooty and makes his way to meet his boyfriend waiting outside a posh restaurant. But one with different plans, his boyfriend makes a face and extends his arm, indicating that he wants to take a walk in the city and not go inside.)

Is this love?
Ditching the rules

(He takes his arm, and they walk around the city, only for it to start raining. They seek shelter at a Chai Tapri and end up having pakodas and bond over chai while dressed in their Sunday best.)

Making first moves
Bottling all of it up in time capsules?

(Voiceover ends)

(Brown pakodas transition into brown soil and plants, with a girl gardening and yellow-coloured tools lying around.
She gets a notification from the guy she’s been talking to on Bumble and texts him “Busy at the NGO. Call you in a bit, miss you.” He replies, “Turn around” and there he is, with a Sunflower in his hand – symbolic of Bumble.)

(Voiceover starts)

Is this love?
Showing up
When they would least expect you to?

(She laughs out of shock, hugs him, puts the sunflower behind her ear and they get to gardening plants.)

(Voiceover ends)

(Soil transitions into a dark coffee cup that a lady in yellow is holding, while waiting for someone. The woman she’s been talking to finally arrives, straight from work.)

(Voiceover starts)

Or is it showing up every single day,
Sharing the tiniest of details,

(The former hands her the coffee cup, like they’ve been doing this for a while and fall into step as part of their post work routine. The camera zooms in on the name that is written on the coffee cup – ‘Love’.)

With their usual order,
like Action Replay

(Voiceover ends)

(Love on the coffee cup transitions into 'Lov' on a Scrabble Board. The entire board is filled with words related to love. The guy adds an 'e' to the word and exclaims that he has won the game. She retorts with “I let you win.”)

(Voiceover starts)

It is in these moments of truth,
That you ask yourself

(He adjusts the letters on his crate and then turns it around for her to see 'Is This'. Confused, she looks up at him, but he looks at the crate first and then at 'Love' on the Scrabble board, which together make up for- Is this Love. They laugh and he turns up the volume on the yellow-coloured radio playing Is this love’s chorus, as they lean in for a kiss.)
