Ad Film Script

(The scene starts with some young boys playing cricket in a gully, surrounded by a society/ chawl on both sides. The door to the apartment on the ground floor is wide open, with the TV blasting off live commentary of the match. Viraj, who lives there, is busy cleaning his bike outside the apartment, while these boys play gully cricket.

Rohan, a 20 year old, is portrayed to be seemingly naïve; he believes his friends when they tell him it’s ‘Not Out’ even when he has clearly taken a wicket. His own teammates fool him by batting first, even though he is said to be the ‘Opener’. Basically, he comes across as someone who takes everything at face value and does not question doubtful things or situations. The same continues even when it is his chance to bat, until he gets a message on his phone and asks his friends to halt.)

Rohan: (throws his bat after reading the message halfway through) Mein jeet gaya, mein jeet gaya!

Harsh: (confused and irritated) Abey smarty, match mein 30 run baaki hai tu kya bol raha hai?

Rohan: (unaffected, exclaims) Arey Bank ki taraf se mein ek Limited Edition Autographed Gaadi jeet gaya!! Woh jo match ke beech jiski ads aati hai na woh waali!

Harsh and others: (gather around Rohan and crane their necks to look at the message) Abey kya baap hai yeh; Broo wow yaar; Kuch bhi aise toh mere Goa mein 3 Bungalow pade hai. (so the chatter continues)

Rohan: Ab bas meko jaldi se apna CVV ya OTP dena hai aur phir woh log ghar par car deliver kar denge. (frowns) Arey but mummy toh ghar par nahi hai, ab CVV ya OTP kaha se lau?

Kunal (another confused soul) : Arey teko apna UPI PIN toh pata haina, woh dede. Jaldi kar, kya pata offer nikal jaaye.

Rohan: Haan yaar, good idea!

(Harsh and the other guys are still contemplating, while Viraj who has been listening to the whole ruckus all along, comes into the scene and educates Rohan and the guys.)

Viraj: (swinging a hand across Rohan’s shoulder) UPI PIN dega toh Lene ke Dene pad jayenge.

Rohan: (confused) kyu Viraj Bhaiya?

Viraj: Arey chote, Chor ek baat jaanta hai jo tu nahi jaanta. Koi bhi aise reward jeetne ke messages ya phone calls ke badle CVV, OTP ya UPI PIN nahi lagta. Aur koi bhi genuine bank tujhe aise message karke yeh reward nahi degi aur na aise details maangegi.

Rohan: Acha? But bhaiya yaha toh unka number bhi diya hai, mujhe bas apne details bhejni hai, simple.

Other guys: Haan exactly!

Viraj: Ek baar jo tune apni details bhej di, toh uske baad yeh banda bhi gaayab aur uska number bhi.

Rohan: (sad but enlightened) Acha? Toh ab kya karu?

Viraj: Isiliye tu Helmet pehen Chote, Topi nahi. (takes off Rohan’s cap and gives him the helmet lying next to the stumps)

(Everybody laughs and Viraj gives a side hug to console Rohan. Together, they block the number and at the same time, the commentator shouts, “Aaaand he’s OUT!

Everybody starts rejoicing and the guys dance around Viraj and Rohan.

The ad ends with the hashtag, #TopibaazOUT.
